The next day, on Valentine’s Day itself, we went for a lengthy walk about the town, and my girlfriend took me to the locations in which she grew up, her old haunts, where she had worked as a youngster, and we swapped tales of growing up in working class England. A straightforward lunch was followed by additional time as a couple, and the night was passed in fine style with food and wine and chat.
Valentine’s day gifts were swapped. That evening we sat and watched the myriad clouds shine as they passed in front of the moon, which was enlightening mile after mile of wide open landscape that bordered the town.
My intention here? We spent the big day as a couple. Each minute of it. Valentine’s day gifts and cards are elemental examples of your love for your partner, but the main issue is to clearly tell them they are exceptional and that they’re treasured. That couple of days was incredible. We shared a charming time with first-rate food, precious memories and hours of finding further about one other’s lives.
Valentine’s day is more than merely a meal and a movie. It’s a moment when you are able to reflect on the things you share with your loved one and remember all of the reasons the two of you got together in the first place.
